Delicious traditional black cake for 12 servings.
Ingredients:
- 8 Eggs
- 1 Pound of all purpose flour
- 1 Pound butter
- 3/4 Regular Sugar
- Caramel Color (Black Food Color, McCormick I used 180 drops)
- 1/2 Spoon Baking Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 Bottle Red Wine or Moscato
Additional Ingredients:
• 2 Spoons Powder Cinnamond
• 2 Spoons Cloves
• 2 Spoons Nutmeg
• 2 Spoons Vanilla Extract
• 2 Spoons Orange Extract
Filling: Dry Fruits.
• 3 Ounces chopped Raisins
• 3 Ounces ground nuts
• 3 Ounces ground Almond
• 5 Ounces chopped dried Figs
• 5 Ounces chopped dried Prunes
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease and flour a cake pan.
2. In a dry bowl mix the butter a temperature room with the regular sugar, use an electric mixer to speed one.
3. When we had already a creamy mixture on the step 2, add the eggs one by one while still mixing.
4. Add to this mix the all purpose sifted flour little by little, the baking powder, salt, powder cinnamon and, nutmeg.
5. While still mixing add the cloves and all de filling ingredients as: raisins, nuts, almonds, figs and prunes.
6. The last step is adding both extracts Vanilla and Orange, mix again and take to the oven for 55 minutes or until the knife comes out clean approximately for 55 minutes.
7. When our cake is ready let it stand for 15 minutes out of the oven. Make holes in the cake should still be in the cake pan and bathed with wine on several occasions to end the bottle.
